About Us

The D-Star project in Central Scotland was first started in January 2008.

The first applications for GB7DG and GB7DE were submitted to the RSGB late November 2007 for UHF operating. A decision was taken in January 2008 to submit further applications for VHF at both GB7DE and GB7DG.

GB7DG Port C VHF came on-line 14th February 2008. This was the first 2m D-Star system in the UK.

In March 2008 an application was submitted for GB7DW a 2m D-Star system to cover Ayrshire.

September 2008 was a major milestone for our network as GB7DE was finally connected to the internet, enabling all 3 central belt systems to be connected.

Todate (22nd June 2009) we have the following in operation:
GB7DD - Dundee UHF
GB7DG - Glasgow VHF & UHF
GB7DE - Fife/Lothians VHF & UHF
GB7DK - Stranraer VHF & UHF
GB7DW - Ayrshire VHF (awaiting UHF installation)
GB7GD - Aberdeen VHF

This is a sister system to our network and came online late July 2008.

The network is managed by Adrian GM1FML, John GM0OPS and Martin MM0DUN
